Something Colorful, Something Happy

Hi, I want to share a couple of new scarves which I finished painting today. These have very distinct black lines and some white unpainted areas which are giving them a very different look. Let me know what you think of them... the first one is a classic scarf whereas the second one is inspired by Persian designs.

Hi

Check out this video, it has been made by my friend Elizabeth's granddaughter. I think it will touch many hearts and everyone must have faced it in some way or another in their life.
Thanks Mia, you are doing an excellent job, I wish you all the best.

IRIS IN BLOOM

Spring is here...

Iris is one of my favorite flower to paint. I love the ruffles of the petals, they remind me of flamingo dancing.

The delicacy of this flower is enhanced by the beauty of the flow of silk ...

Datura Flowers on Silk

Hi Everyone

Sorry, I have been busy with various projects and was not able to post anything recently. Well, the news is that I have just finished a painting on silk. I used my watercolor techniques, and basically it looks like a watercolor but it is not..... interesting!!!!!.hmmm

I am planning to mount it on canvas, once it is steam set. In that way it will be easier to handle without any glass on top. I will then coat it with a sealer to make it waterproof.......
Just trying out new stuff

Stamping on Silk

Hi Everyone

I have been experimenting different techniques on silk lately. One of them is stamping. I have always been drawn to it, the challenge is to control the dye in a manner that you don't need a resist to do it. Well, after many hits and tries I was able to work out a process with which I am satisfied.

This is the painted piece, I am happy with the results...
It is now ready to be steam set and then washed .....  Well, I would also like to finish it with some beading at both ends of the scarf.

Will post a photograph of the finished scarf soon.......

Something for Everyone

I have been painting on Eyeglass covers made out of Charmuse silk in the past. Recently I came across the same made out of Jacquard silk. Painting on them was fun, and they came out beautiful too. I am thinking of sticking to these from now on.

Wisteria Flowers

I have always been drawn to these beautiful flowers. Their color, form and the way they hang on the branches, always take me to a dream world. Recently I was requested by a customer to paint a scarf with Wisteria flowers for his mother. They have them all over their house and that his mother loves them. So, I got my reference material together and started working on it. As it was the first time I was painting them on a scarf, it was a challenge. Well I loved the finished piece and would like to share it with you. Please give me your comments.....
